The share of institutions that had fully rolled out GenAI jumped sharply from ** percent in 2023 to ** percent in 2025, making deployment the dominant stage of implementation rather than pilot testing. At the same time, earlier-phase activities declined. Fewer banks were in the beta-testing, design, or consideration stages, signaling that GenAI strategies had matured beyond exploratory initiatives. While a similar share continued to soft-launch solutions with select groups, the overall shift indicates that GenAI is no longer primarily a trial technology for U.S. banks, but it has become an operational tool embedded in live environments.
