In 2022, final demand of primary and secondary energy use in Canada amounted to some **** exajoules, down from roughly **** exajoules from in previous year. In the period of consideration, figures fluctuated, peaking at almost nine exajoules in 2019. Between 2009 and 2022, figures presented a net increase. Currently, hydroelectricity accounts for over half of Canada's total electric generation.
