The construction costs for the nuclear power reactors Vogtle * and * in the United States were estimated to be around ** billion U.S. dollars in 2009 when the construction started. However, Georgia Power Company, owner of the largest share of the reactors, saw the construction costs more than double by 2023 when they were estimated at around ** billion U.S. dollars.
Vogtle * was connected to the electricity grid of the U.S. in and became one of the five of Georgia.
