Nuclear reactors with longest construction time
In 2024, France’s Flamanville 3 and India’s Kakrapar 4 were the world’s nuclear reactors with the longest actual construction time. The two nuclear units started operations that year after *** and *** months, respectively. By comparison, new nuclear plants based in China had the shortest construction time.
