Most Snapchat users are taking advantage of the original free version of the app. In 2022, the number of global Snapchat users stood at *** million. By 2027, it is estimated that there will be over *** million global users of the social app. India is home to *** million Snapchat users, whilst the United States is the platform’s second largest market, with *** million users as of April 2023.

Social app downloads

Although Snapchat is experiencing steady growth in terms of user numbers, other social media heavyweights still take center stage with regards to number of app downloads. In 2022, Snapchat was the fifth most downloaded mobile app worldwide, with *** million downloads. TikTok, owned by Beijing-based tech company ByteDance, was the most downloaded app of 2022. Instagram, WhatsApp, and CapCut, ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
