Mergers and acquisitions are prevalent across all industries globally, but the value of such deals tends to be much higher in certain industries. Between 1985 and 2023, over ** percent of all deals in terms of value took place in financial, and energy and power industries. However, these industries do not feature as heavily in the list of largest all-time M&A deals as industries like telecommunications, or media and entertainment do.
