Plastic packaging waste generation in the European Union (EU-27) has been on a mostly continual annual growth since the beginning of the decade. Nevertheless, in 2023, per capita plastic packaging waste production in the bloc was estimated at almost kilograms. This represented a decrease from 2022, which was the highest figure recorded during the period in consideration.
