Supplementary notes
Since 2025, the Energy Institute has been using the Physical Energy Content method for calculating total energy supply (TES).
Energy from non-fossil fuel combustible electricity generation is measured based on input heat requirements, while non-combustible renewable sources are measured based on the energy content of their gross electricity output.
Figures refer to commercially traded fuels, including modern renewables used to generate electricity.
Total energy supply in Czechia amounted to **** exajoules in 2025, a slight increase when compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, between 2005 and 2025, supply of primary energy in the European country decreased by roughly *** petajoules, peaking at **** exajoules in 2006.
