Across Africa, from 2020 to 2025, instant payment system (IPS) transactions conducted through banks consistently recorded the highest average values. In 2025, the average transaction value fell to *** U.S. dollars for bank-based IPS and ** U.S. dollars for cross-domain IPS, marking the lowest levels observed over the period. By comparison, in 2023, average transaction values stood at *** U.S. dollars for bank IPS and *** U.S. dollars for cross-domain IPS.
