The source notes that it cannot distinguish between unique individuals using services across multiple brands. Consequently, the reported figures represent the number of user connections with reporting brands, potentially overcounting the total number of distinct users. Since November 2022, there have been nine providers and 20 brands providing data.Â

In June 2026, there were close to ** million open banking users in the United Kingdom, combining both AIS and PIS users, a significant increase compared to the same month in the previous year. Throughout most of the observed period, there were slightly more Payment Initiation Service (PIS) than Account Information Service (AIS) users, and the gap between these two user types widened notably in 2024.
