Electric scooters were officially legalized on German roads in 2019 and have become increasingly popular since then. However, there remains a substantial gender difference in their use. In 2023, nearly three-quarters of insured e-scooters in Germany were owned by men, while women owned less than a quarter of insured e-scooters in the country.
