The index is based on three (startup confidence index) to four (investor confidence index) questions about respondents' market expectations. An index score above five shows confidence in the market (more respondents responded positively than negatively). An index score below five shows lack of confidence in the market (more respondents responded negatively than positively).

Proptech startup founder and investor confidence index worldwide 2016-2025
Proptech industry experts recovered some of their confidence in 2025, with the confidence index rising for both investors and founders compared to the 2022 dip. Proptech startup founders were more optimistic, with their score measuring ***, compared to ***Â for investors. Overall, the global proptech sector has been growing, with 2021 breaking the record for investment volumes.
