Global exports of cartonboard were valued at 25.2Â billion U.S. dollars in 2024. The export value of cartonboard has increased significantly over the past two decades, having risen from just 8.2 billion U.S. dollars in the year 2000. Cartonboard, or boxboard, is a type of paperboard used for manufacturing folding cartons. Meanwhile, corrugated case materials - also called containerboard - had an export value of 21.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2024.
