According to a survey in the U.S. conducted in October 2020, a large majority of adults opposed overturning the Affordable Care Act's (Obamacare's) protection for people with pre-existing conditions, even among republican voters. This is not unexpected as the same survey showed that nearly half of U.S. adults said they and/or someone else in their household had a serious health condition such as high blood pressure, heart disease, lung disease, cancer, or diabetes.
