The leverage ratio is used as a tool to measure the capital adequacy of a bank. The ratio uses Tier 1 capital in order to measure how leveraged a bank is in relation to its consolidated assets. Higher leverage ratios indicate that a bank is more capable of withstanding risks than those with low leverage ratios. As of March 2022, ING Group's leverage ratio was **** percent.
