DMSat-1 commissioned by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre and the Dubai Municipality was launched in 2021. The satellite is the first manometric environmental satellite in the MENA region and is used to monitor greenhouse gasses and other pollutants. The MBRSC has been enhancing the indigenous aerospace capabilities of the United Arab Emirates over the years. Its upcoming satellite, the MBZ-Sat which is built primarily in the UAE by local companies, is expected to launch on a SpaceX rocket from California in 2025.
