In 2024, there was a notable disparity in the consumption of confectioneries in Italy, varying according to age groups. The younger the individuals, the higher the sweet consumption. In fact among those between six and 10 years old, close to 77 percent consumed sweets once a week. On the other hand, among those aged 75 and older, only 39.6 percent consumed them weekly.
