VAR (video assistant referee) is a source of constant debate among soccer fans across the world. While the use of technology can be useful to determine whether the ball has crossed the goal-line, its application by referees to determine fouls and offsides remains controversial. During a November 2020 survey in the UK, ** percent of respondents aged 45 to 54 stated that VAR was making soccer much worse, while only percent believed it was making soccer much better.
