Over one third of new solar PV capacity installations worldwide are rooftop attachements. The share of rooftop solar reached a peak in 2018, when 43 percent of all solar panels deployed that year were fitted on residential and commercial buildings. China and the United States are expected to account for the greatest solar capacity additions in the next few years.
